I wrote this May 26, 1999.
"Walking"
Strolling down the road
Stores lined up selling mediocre products
Scrubby guy hanging out the window whistling
Girls, younger and younger, wrapped in plastic
Army outfit beating a drum out of time
Skin tight two wheels flying past
Gang hanging out like ash trays
Sunglasses glinting with maps
Short skirt vending herself
Young man going after digits
Guitar playing out of tune
Baggy pants skating by
Young legs dancing to a silent song
Trees blowing to be bent
Mother chasing the result of her love
Wagging tail barking
Four wheels zipping by like there's no tomorrow
Couple interlocked like a jigsaw puzzle
Hurt ones screaming for attention
Walking towards quiet solitude.
